Leticiaà + Jack
So it’s late one Sunday evening in April and it started exactly like this – ‘Hi! You seem really nice and we really like your website and photos/style! We’re planning on getting hitched on July 13 or 14 2018, hopefully at a private sunrise handfasting ceremony in Stonehenge, then a civil one + reception somewhere nearby in the afternoon/ evening. Thought I’d send you a msg. Looking forward to hearing from you! Cheers.’
‘You seem really nice’! Ha, love it! Well I suddenly got a whole lot nicer after we met over Skype and I suddenly had the prospect of a mid-summer’s sunrise ceremony to look forward to – inside the circle of Stonehenge no less!
Roll forward 14 months or so to the middle of the hottest summer on record. ‘Wow, what a sunrise this is going to be’, I thought to myself. Well my 3am alarm call arrived on the day itself and off I headed down the A303…to be confronted by thick fog! Thoughts of a lovely spectacular sunrise were quickly banished, to be replaced by doubts as to whether we’d even be able to see the stones! Clutching on to my photography philosophy of what you lose on one hand you gain with the other I was rewarded by the most mystical, magical photographic experience of my life. Yes it was foggy but somehow this only served to make the ceremony more atmospheric and even ethereal.
Pinching myself at what had gone on in the early hours, the rest of the day was spent at fabulous Hawk Conservancy Trust. Commencing with Leticiaa and Jack’s legal ceremony (thank you Mr Barn Owl for delivering the rings safely!), the day was beautifully rounded off with their first dance outside in the blazing sunshine followed by sparklers – again in the bright daylight. But it all went off spectacularly. Oh and did I mention the proposal that was suddenly sprung upon us? Yes one of the couples got engaged there and then!
Leticiaa and Jack, what can I say? Thank you and congratulations! Thank you for hiring me and for giving the opportunity that most photographers would have given their right arms for. And congratulations on the most incredible wedding day – well done for having the vision and executing it beautifully.
