DO YOU BELONG TO ANY PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY ORGANISATIONS?

Circles-BlogYes, I am a full member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP), an international community of professional photographers. I am also a Professional level member of The Guild of Photographers.

ARE YOU INSURED?
Absolutely – I have both public liability and professional indemnity cover.
WHAT AREA DO YOU COVER?
Although I am based in Hampshire, I love to travel and have visited many destinations to shoot weddings and special family events.

WEDDING QUESTIONS

HOW LONG WILL YOU STAY FOR?
I will be with you from the bridal and / or groom preps right through to your first few dances. Your first dance is pretty special, but so too are the next few when all your family and friends get up to join you. I won’t be able to resist capturing all of that for you as well. I will then find it incredibly hard to tear myself away. However, that’s OK, because I’ll then set up the same day slideshow (if it’s included in your collection) with 80-100 images from the day for you and your guests to enjoy….and re-live it all again. There is always the option of hiring the Memory Booth too which will give you 2 hours of fun, crazy photos through the evening if that’s what you would like.

 

DO YOU DESIGN THE ALBUMS YOURSELF?

FAQ-AlbumYes. We design them in such a way that they will really showcase your wedding and tell the story of your day with style and impact. But you, the client, will always have the last word as we’ll ask you to rubber stamp the proofs before they are sent off to be created.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ON OUR DAY?

FAQ-RainI have various answers to this. Firstly, it’s very unusual for it to rain incessantly all day (even in England!). There will most likely be windows of opportunity for outdoor shots. Personally I love working with the rain – with the right preparation and lighting I can get really creative and produce some more unusual images for you. If all else fails we will get some great photographs indoors, again with the right lighting, and the plans I will have put together from your pre-wedding shoot and consultation at your venue.

WHEN WILL WE GET TO SEE OUR PHOTOS?
Again, you will get to see the slideshow of 80-100 or so on the evening of your actual wedding day. Beyond that I aim to have your whole collection processed and loaded into a secure on-line gallery within a week of your wedding, sometimes sooner.

 

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE GET?
For a full day’s attendance, typically anywhere between 500 and 750 fully processed images will be loaded into your on-line gallery.

 

LIFESTYLE QUESTIONS

WHAT TIME OF YEAR WORKS BEST FOR OUTDOOR LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS?

FAQ-SEASONSIt really doesn’t matter. Each season has it’s own beautiful characteristics and light qualities. And remember, overcast days can often produce the best results – colours are more vibrant. It’s about being prepared according to the location and time of year, and we’ll cover that off in the pre-session briefing.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?
There’s no rule and it very much depends on the time of year. Some months can be very busy. But for family & couples lifestyle shoots ideally 4-6 weeks beforehand.

For Newborns please get in touch towards the latter stages of your pregnancy. We’ll schedule something in for when baby is due to be 10-14 days old but move it if necessary according to the actual birth date.

WHAT DO WE GET FOR THE SESSION FEE?
My time, expertise and equipment – for the preparation, the shoot itself, the subsequent processing and finally the presentation of all of your images.
WHAT IF ONE OF US IS UNWELL?
No problem, again we’ll just need to re-schedule. But please give me as much notice as possible.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

FAQ-WEARYes, very important question and your choices can have a big impact on the final portraits. But don’t worry too much – we’ll go through all of that during your pre-session briefing. In the meantime my portfolio may help with some inspiration.

WHAT LOCATIONS DO YOU USE?
I conduct a lot of photo shoots in the beautiful grounds of two of North Hampshire’s leading hotels, Tylney Hall and the Elvetham, where I am a preferred photographer. But really the possibilities are only limited by our imagination – it could be your favourite park, a beach or even your own back garden./living room. I have studio equipment…and it’s portable.
HOW LONG DO THE SESSIONS LAST?

FAQ-SESSIONSThe sessions are not rushed, and plenty of time is allocated. For family lifestyle shoots we allow up to a couple of hours and for newborns it could be even 3. People, children in particular, need time to settle. That’s when their true personalities and character start coming across and into the camera.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
Don’t worry, the sessions are ‘weatherproof’. We simply re-schedule if the weather is bad.
WHAT SHOULD WE BRING ALONG?
Lots of enthusiasm! The photo shoot is more of a fun family experience and it’s all about capturing you as a family, laughing, smiling and generally just being. We want to capture lots of lovely memories of your family at this moment in time. Depending on the style of the shoot and time of year there will of course be a few other things but we’ll cover those off during your pre-session briefing.
CAN WE BRING OUR DOG?
Oh, yes please! They say ‘never work with animals and children’; I blatantly ignore that and love to work with both.  Bring your camper van too if you like!

VIEWING & ORDERING

WHEN WILL WE GET TO SEE OUR PORTRAITS?
We’ll schedule in a viewing and ordering session approximately 2 weeks after your photo shoot. To make it as convenient as possible for you we’ll conduct this in the comfort of your own home.  I’ll present the images to you on a shiny new MacBook Pro, and using some pretty clever software and some product samples we can help generate some ideas and design some stunning wall displays..if that’s what you would like.
WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU SELL?

FAQ-AlbumI work very closely with some of the country’s leading labs to bring you the finest selection of products from mounted prints to stunning wall art pieces and albums.

DO YOU SELL DIGITAL IMAGES?
Yes I do (and you actually get a complimentary hi resolution copy of any image you purchase in any of the wall art formats). But I don’t encourage digital only purchases as I can’t guarantee the print quality outside of my professional labs.
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL THERE BE?
Much depends on the number of people and the style of the session. But for a family of 4 I will typically present you with 30-40 photographs from which to choose.
IS THERE ANY MINIMUM PURCHASE?
No, you are under no obligation to purchase anything. That said, my challenge is to create stunning and truly memorable portraits. Your challenge will be to resist them!
CAN FRIENDS & FAMILY ORDER PHOTOS?

FAQ-FAMILYYes. Once you have confirmed your order I will provide you with a secure on-line gallery to share with who ever you choose. The gallery will remain live for 2 weeks (and can be extended for an administrative fee). Everyone can purchase directly from there.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PACKAGES?
Yes, as well as having an ‘a la carte’ menu of individual items, I do sell discounted collections of products to suit a variety of budgets.
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT TERMS?
I ask for the session fee to be paid in advance to fully secure the booking and to allow me to get on with the necessary preparation. For subsequent purchases I require 50% when the order is placed and 50% on delivery.

IMAGES FOR COMMERCIAL USE

Unless agreed otherwise, images for commercial use are £495 + VAT for single use or £695 + VAT for multiple use. The prices stated are per image.
