The Dalhousie Castle Wedding of Elinor & Aidan
It all started with this: ‘Dear Alistair, My fiancé, Aidan, and I are exploring options for a photographer for our wedding, in Edinburgh, on 22nd October 2016. You photographed Aidan’s sister’s wedding last August, at Stonyhurst College, and we were impressed by her photographs. We are interested to know whether you might be available on that day to photograph our wedding?
Follow that up with ‘too right I’m available, let’s do this’ and I was practically on the plane!
A logistical challenge ensued, not just with getting to and from Scotland but on the actual day itself. Eli’s Bridal preps took place in their Edwardian town house (just loved the ‘industry’ that greeted myself and Alex when we arrived – Eli’s Mum ironing the dresses, a couple of bridesmaids making the favours and Eli totally chilled in the middle of it all having her hair done – she did the make-up herself), their ceremony took place in St Mary’s Cathedral and finally their reception was held at the magnificent Dalhousie Castle.
All in all we had three wonderful late autumn days up in Edinburgh and this was the story of Eli and Aidan’s day.
Are you busy wedding planning?
If you’d like your wedding documented in this way and would like to check my availability, I’d love to hear from you.
