Emily & Simon. The kind of couple that I’d be happy photographing any day of the week, on any occasion, at any location. The fact that it was their Canterbury Cathedral Wedding was just the icing on the cake.
It’s amazing to think that more than 5 years on and I still get as nervous as hell before a wedding but I have long since concluded that it’s a good thing. But I have to admit that for this wedding the heart was beating a little bit faster than normal. It was mainly down to the venue of course. I had never actually been to Canterbury Cathedral, let alone shot a wedding there!
But to make things a little easier myself and Josh, my forever amazing right hand man, made our way down to Canterbury the night before and had a good recce from outside and inside various pubs. Only joking, ha ha! Well, sort of – we were certainly able to have a good look around and to also meet up with Emily & Simon along with their sweet little young lady, Summer. Now Summer was somewhat lively on that early September Thursday evening and I could certainly already tell she was going to be fun to photograph. And so it proved on the following, big, day. Summer almost stole the show from Mum & Bride Emily!
Enjoy the photographs.
